If so, how much do they cost?

Is it possible to order just one pair of chassis?

Yes, please contact us, specifying the model and size you require. These are complete frames, with axles and all necessary screws and bolts, but without wheels or front brakes. If you have a shoe you'd like to mount on a frame, you can order the rest of the parts.

I can't find all the spare parts on your site.

As manufacturers of STARWAY skates, we can supply all spare parts. As there are hundreds of them (screws, nuts, dampers, axles, etc.), it would be tedious to list them all. Describe the part you need or send us a photo by e-mail, and we'll contact you if we need any further details, and let you know the price.

My pair of Quad skates could do with a check-up. What should I do?

We carry out all overhauls in our workshop, up to and including the 100,000 km service! Drop off your pair of Quad skates at your favorite sporting goods store, who will forward them to us, or send them directly to the address at the bottom of the page. Upon receipt, we'll contact you with a quotation.

I couldn't find STARWAY skates in the sporting goods store I frequent.

In Switzerland, we'll be happy to give you the name of the nearest sporting goods store selling STARWAY roller skates. Just tell us where you live. If you live abroad and do not wish to order through our website, please ask your local sporting goods store to contact us directly.

How do I adjust my skates?

To get the most out of your Starway, take a few minutes to adjust your skates to your weight and skating style. You'll need a wrench to tighten or loosen the main axle nuts to achieve the desired flexibility. Too tight and you won't be able to slalom easily, and too loose and you'll end up with an unpleasant feeling of floating or difficult skate control. It's better to have the front axles a little tighter than the rear ones. If you want to keep your bearings for a long time, see the next question.

How do I maintain my ball bearings?

European ball bearings are maintenance-free. They are greased for life, and no attempt should be made to introduce grease or oil. Oil would only dissolve the grease, allow moisture to settle in and eventually block the bearing. If your bearings are dirty or damp, simply wipe them clean with a dry cloth.

Don't rely on ABEC standards, because they're really not serious and only take one thing into account. The constraints of an ABEC 7 are valid for aerospace and THE bearing is worth around Fr. 100.-!
